Idea Nxe5 offers the queen, and taking it is mate
02 / 07 Visual coach

See the position.

Forks, pins, open files: drawn on the board, in colour, while you look at it.

Best move

Ne5!

The knight jumps to a square nothing can take it on. The green arrow is the move the coach recommends.

Fork

It attacks the queen and the rook at once.

Red rings mark what is under attack; red arrows come from the attacker. One of them has to go.

Pin

The rook cannot even run.

It stands on the bishop's diagonal in front of its own king. Blue is structure: pins, chains, lines.

Open file

And the e-file is open.

No pawns on it. That is where the rooks belong, and the coach says so before you have to ask.

03 / 07 Game review

Review like a coach.

Every move is graded and explained, what went wrong, what you should have played, and why.

Best, good, inaccuracy, mistake, blunder.

Green through red, underlined in the move list, visualized on the board. You see the shape of the game in a glance.

The coach says why.

Not just an evaluation number, a coach-like explanation of the right move, the piece that hangs, the file that opens, the mate that was in the position.

Zero hallucinations.

Powered by a top-tier AI system that never fabricates. Every explanation is grounded in the actual position.

Qh4 walks into Rg1, and the queen on h4 has no safe square. Qd7 was the calmer choice, and it keeps the d-file covered.

04 / 07 Memorisation

Memorise your repertoire.

Flashcards for moves with smart reminders to strengthen your opening repertoire. Import from your games and let the system analyse which lines you need to practice.

A card is one move in one position.

The Italian, move by move. You are shown the position and you play the move: no reading, no clicking through.

A slip lapses the card.

Play the wrong move and the right one is shown, the card comes back sooner, and the line is marked weak.

Smart spaced repetition.

Reviews land just before you would forget. Mastery is the predicted recall of the line, so it never quite reaches 100%.

05 / 07 Play

Play a human-like AI.

Maia was trained on millions of human games. It plays like a 1500, not like an engine set to easy.

Its mistakes look like yours.

Pick the rating you want to face. The bot plays the moves people at that level actually play, blunders included.

It thinks like a person, too.

Long thinks in sharp positions, instant recaptures, the occasional flag. The clock means something.

Rated, saved, reviewed.

Every game goes to your profile and feeds your openings, your principles and the puzzles built from your own mistakes.

06 / 07 Take the challenge

Five positions. Everyone.

Three hard puzzles and two endgames to convert, against the clock. Your time is ranked against every player who solved the same position. Three attempts each, no account needed.

The challenges

Solve fast. Get ranked.

The clock starts when you press start and stops on the server when you finish. One wrong move ends a puzzle; only checkmate converts an endgame.
